Clay County Community Foundation

The CCCF Disaster Recovery Fund (DRF) is designed to grant funds to the
organizations that are working with those most affected by the flooding assisting with
immediate needs.  Qualified grands are funded directly to nonprofit organizations and
municipalities that assist individuals.

Spencer Community Schools Foundation

The Classroom Recovery Fund is raising funds to support Lincoln Elementary teachers
(3rd, 4th,& 5th grades) and Johnson Elementary preschool teachers who lost
everything when their classrooms were flooded. The Foundation will be assisting in the
replacement of these necessary instructional items for students. Many of the teachers
have lost supplies and materials that they purchased with their personal funds. We want
to provide them with a donation to replace these items.

Love Takes Root:

Hy-noon Kiwanis is partnering with Love Takes Root (a registered non-profit in Iowa) to fund school supplies, shoes and other essentials for children attending any Spencer School, including Sacred Heart and Lutheran schools, as well as assist with purchasing teaching supplies for displaced Spencer teachers. Love Takes Root’s mission is to cultivate the future of children worldwide. The organization has received support from the Spencer community for children in other countries, and want to give back.
